Hugh Robertson

Hugh Robertson is the Managing Director of Centaur Financial Services; a private wealth services firm. In 2018, Hugh won the most prestigious award in the financial planning industry, the Association of Financial Advisers Financial Adviser of the Year.

It was an honour for Hugh to win the award and a testament to his focus on excellent customer service, highly educated advice, and commitment to running a sustainable business model. He followed this up in 2019 winning the Independent Financial Adviser’s Goals-Based Financial Adviser of the Year. And in 2018,2019 and 2020, Hugh was nominated by Financial Standard as one of Australia’s top 50 most influential advisers.

A survey of the Beddoes Institute’s clients gave Hugh a 97% trust score and a 90% net promoter score, which means his clients are raving fans. Hugh is also part of the Most Trusted Adviser network based on these results.

Hugh has two Masters degrees; a Master in Financial Planning, and an MBA. He also holds a bachelors degree in International Finance with an Accounting major. In addition to these, Hugh is a Certified Financial Planner and also holds the Self Managed Superannuation Specialist designation.

Hugh’s enthusiasm for studying and continuous learning in all-things-financial translates into always current and thorough financial advice. In 2019/2020 Hugh also completed the FASEA ethics exam and the Code of Ethics course, which was mandatory due to the Banking Royal Commission.

Outside of work, Hugh spends his weekends chasing around his four young children with his wife and trying to get to the beach to enjoy the beautiful part of the world they live in, on the Gold Coast. Although not very accomplished at golf he certainly enjoys it when time permits, and is aware he needs to spend more time in the gym to keep up with his four children as they grow.
